Make Plans To Participate In Annual Shoal Creek Duck Race
It’s time to adopt your ducks for this year’s Shoal Creek Duck Race, scheduled to be held on Thursday evening, June 28, as part of this year’s Liberty Festival: A Salute to California.
This year’s duck race will be held at a different part of Shoal Creek, the newly created Veterans’ Memorial Park. The park is located north of U.S. Highway 43 (Evergreen Street, right on Hayes Avenue, to park.}
Ducks are up for adoption now at a cost of $5.00 for one duck or $20.00 for five. To adopt a duck stop by the Crockett Arts Center, Middle Tennessee Furniture and Appliance Center, Pop’s Bait Shop, Moore’s on the square, and First Lady Beauty Salon.
The winner will be awarded a new non-motorized fishing boat donated by Jaco’s Marine. Second and third prizes will be provided by Pop’s Bait Shop and Middle Tennessee Furniture and Appliance Outlet.
The day of the race food will be available through Chapparal’s Steak House. Vintage cars associated with the Classic Car Club will be on display. The Huntley Sisters will perform. Also, a number of door prizes will be given away.
